The Ram volleyball team traveled to Roland-Story Monday and came away with one win and two losses in the non-conference play.
The Rams took two games from Madrid by scores of 22-20 and 21-16. They lost two games to BCLUW by identical 17-21 scores, and then lost to Carlisle 13-21, 12-21.
The Rams did their best serving of the season against BCLUW, making 35 of 36 serves for 97 percent.
Aubrey Heupel was perfect at the service line for the evening, making 16 of 16 serves. She had a total of 34 assists.
Sophie Havens made 22 of 23 serves and had nine digs. Kara Reed made 19 of 20 serves.
Lily Muir contributed 12 kills and 11 digs to the cause while Brianna Osterson added five kills and 12 digs. Luisa Slompo had 14 kills for the evening.
The Rams played again on Tuesday, making the long drive to Monroe to play conference foes PCM. The Rams won 3-1, with games scores19-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-23.
The Rams served at 90 percent. Sophia Havens made 13 of 13 serves and Kara Reed made 11 of 11. Paige Heaning made 16 of 17 serves while Lily Muir made 14 of 15 serves with five aces. She had 17 digs and 12 kills. Luisa Slompo each 12 kills. Brianna Osterson had 14 digs. Aubrey Heupel had 37 assists.
The Rams are 6-15 overall and 2-4 in the conference. They travel to Story City to play Roland-Story Tuesday, Oct. 2. They have just four matches left in the regular season, with district play opening Oct. 13.
